The Jackson Community is working on a Strategic Plan to be introduced at the January 19, 2027 School Board Meeting.

Dear Jackson Neighbors, 

Happy September! As we head back into the school year, we are beginning an important conversation about the future of education for Jackson students. 

Our current strategic plan will guide us until 2027, and we are now working to develop the priorities that will carry our vision for education forward. Before we begin writing that plan, we want to hear from the people who know our community best and that’s you. 

This is an especially meaningful time to look ahead. In addition to all changes at the state and federal levels, Jackson is fortunate to see an increase in enrollment this year, a reminder that our schools and our community continue to evolve and grow. As we consider what our students will need in the years ahead, we want to make sure we’re listening carefully to the people who make up our community. 

Before we begin writing the next strategic plan, we want to hear from you. Over the next few months, we invite residents, including students, parents, and taxpayers to participate in several ways: 

Take the 10-minute community survey. The survey is open through September 30 and takes just a few minutes. Your perspective, whether you have children in our schools or not is valuable. We invite all residents to respond, including students! Take the survey here. View a copy of the survey here. 

Participate in a one-on-one conversation for 15-30 minutes. We are conducting individual interviews with community members through September 30. This is an opportunity to share your experiences, hopes, concerns, and ideas in a more personal conversation. You can connect with one of our interviewers in person, via telephone, or via Zoom.

Join a community forum. Additional opportunities to come together, listen to one another, and talk about the future of our schools will be offered in the coming months at The Whitney Center at the following dates and times:

We know that our schools are an important part of the fabric of our town. Their success affects our students and families, but it also affects our community as a whole. That is why we want this planning process to reflect a broad range of voices, not just those who regularly attend school meetings. 

Please take the survey, sign up for a one-on-one conversation, or join us at a community forum. Your participation will help us understand what our community values most and where we should focus our energy and resources in the years ahead. This is your community, and we want to plan its future together.
